To evoke nostalgia and transport viewers back to the past, we drew inspiration from ‘30s travel posters, the Yorkshire landscape, and the textures and tones of the show itself. We took the audience on an animated, immersive, emotive journey through the dales, mirroring our hero James’s journey the very first day he arrives in Darrowby village. The 2020 remake needed a standout title sequence that captured the story’s cup-of-cocoa charm and set the vision for further brand expression. Based on much-loved novels, the original show was one of TV’s biggest hits. Heartwarming and humorous, All Creatures Great & Small follows the misadventures of James Herriot, a young vet from Glasgow finding his way in the idyllic and idiosyncratic ‘30s and ‘40s Yorkshire Dales. We brought our creativity and craft to bear on this landmark remake, creating an animated world with true character. ![]()
